Make an impact to your local community and across Australia by joining Treasury, the Government’s lead economic advisor. Our Graduate Development Program offers recent university graduates the opportunity to work on policies and programs to achieve strong and sustainable economic and fiscal outcomes for Australians.
Graduates are an important part of Treasury’s workforce. As a graduate you will contribute to the development of policies and be involved in providing well informed, innovative and sound advice on key issues that impact Australians.
As a Treasury graduate you will have access to learning and development opportunities, a competitive starting salary and a range of employee benefits.
Our program is open to recent graduates from wide-ranging disciplines and backgrounds which include, but are not limited to:
• economics
• law
• accounting
• data
• statistics
• mathematics
• political sciences.
Our Graduate Development Program runs for 2 years from our Canberra office. You will take part in 3 work rotations to develop your skills, knowledge and confidence as an influential employee of Treasury and the broader Australian Public Service. Each 8 months you will move to a new rotation to learn, contribute and experience a different area of The Treasury. Placements are chosen based on your skills and academic qualifications.
Not only does the program offer learning and development opportunities both internally and externally, graduates are also able to access unique and highly rewarding work experiences and events, including the Federal Budget – which is a high-pressure, fast-paced and challenging environment to hone your skills and capabilities.
Applications for the Graduate Development program open in January each year.
