About our Graduate Development Program
Our Graduate Development Program runs for 2 years from our Canberra office. You will take part in 3 work rotations to develop your skills, knowledge and confidence as an influential employee of Treasury and the broader Australian Public Service. Each 8 months you will move to a new rotation to learn, contribute and experience a different area of The Treasury. Placements are chosen based on your skills and academic qualifications.
Not only does the program offer learning and development opportunities both internally and externally, graduates are also able to access unique and highly rewarding work experiences and events, including the Federal Budget – which is a high-pressure, fast-paced and challenging environment to hone your skills and capabilities.

Graduate Development Program – Indigenous Affirmative Measure
We want to increase the representation of Indigenous Australians in Treasury and the Australian Public Service. This stream is open only to First Nations people.
Treasury Internship Program
We offer internship opportunities to university students, enrolled in or approaching their final year of studies. To be eligible you will need to be pursuing honours, a masters or PhD in Economics.
Australian Government Graduate Program (AGGP) - Economist stream
Studied economics and want to work in the APS? Increase your chances by applying for the AGGP - Economist Stream, which provides opportunities for a job at a number of Government departments.
Study Honours at the no.1 university in Australia
Open to students from all universities, Honours in Biomedical and Health Sciences builds on your bachelor’s degree in science or health and enables you to explore your interests in research. If you’re interested in pursuing a PhD or becoming a qualified health professional, then Honours is an ideal pathway.
