About our Graduate Development Program

Our Graduate Development Program runs for 2 years from our Canberra office. You will take part in 3 work rotations to develop your skills, knowledge and confidence as an influential employee of Treasury and the broader Australian Public Service. Each 8 months you will move to a new rotation to learn, contribute and experience a different area of The Treasury. Placements are chosen based on your skills and academic qualifications.

Not only does the program offer learning and development opportunities both internally and externally, graduates are also able to access unique and highly rewarding work experiences and events, including the Federal Budget – which is a high-pressure, fast-paced and challenging environment to hone your skills and capabilities.

How to apply

Applications for the Graduate Development program open in January each year.

You can read about the program, eligibility requirements and application process on our Treasury graduate website. You can also register your interest to receive updates for our 2025 Program. Click here to find out more.
