Overview

The Associate Degree of Interior Decoration and Design provides students with applied skills and knowledge gained over two years that focus on 2D and 3D design, communication and documentation skills supported by applied skill in the specification of materials and finishes. Projects are themed around developing design concepts with an exploration into colour, materials and finishes, interior construction techniques, soft furnishings, fabrics and furniture, based on historical and contemporary styles and trends, and the digital documentation (BIM) of these projects.

The Bachelor of Interior Design (Honours) program transitions students from the design and skills focused learning to an embedded honours level research and idea-led pedagogy. Students will be required to demonstrate independent and critical thinking that positions Interior Design as a social, cultural and environmental practice operating at a range of scales within the contemporary global context.
