Overview

In the Associate Degree, students learn to identify and analyse legal concepts and principles in legal practice, and develop high level legal and administrative skills required in the increasingly complex role of a paralegal. Students develop skills in case analysis, legal methods and technology used in practice, legal writing and drafting, interview and negotiation skills, together with an awareness of legal professional and social responsibilities.

In the Bachelor degree, students gain a professional and practical education in legal studies, focusing on the social, political and operational contexts of law and dispute resolution within Australia and globally. Developed in consultation with industry, it prepares students for employment in diverse areas such as courts and tribunals, mediation and arbitration, law offices, local and state government departments, ombudsman’s offices, businesses, community legal services, and human rights organisations.
