Overview

An ideal course for community-minded individuals with an interest in making a difference in the community, this course will develop students' broad skills and knowledge in public health, while developing specialised expertise in health promotion and environmental health. Students will be prepared for a diverse career in emerging public health paraprofessions.

Public health refers to a collection of disciplines that share a common aim to prevent disease, promote health and improve wellbeing among the population as a whole. Health promotion will cover topics such as drugs in society, health promotion strategies, indigenous studies and community needs assessment.
