Overview

Sustainable systems engineering brings together the new technologies and innovative engineering approaches we need for sustainable global development. It strives to meet the needs of society within economic and ecological constraints.

In this course you’ll learn how to protect, restore and create engineered and natural systems in ways that are socially, environmentally and economically sustainable.

As an RMIT sustainable systems engineering student, you'll focus on the development of a sustainable systems approach, bringing together the fundamentals of engineering sciences, maths and engineering design. You can specialise in energy or transport and logistics.

You'll take a holistic approach to engineering the best-possible, compliance-driven sustainable solutions that present leading business opportunities.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in one of Maths: Further Mathematics, Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
