Overview

This is a one-year degree for high-achieving students who have already completed a relevant bachelor degree.

Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science (Honours) students will:
  • explore and analyse a specialist area of exercise science and human performance or related topics from both a theoretical and professional perspective develop research skills
  • develop research skills
  • conduct a creative and analytical study in the form of a thesis.
In an increasingly competitive job market, an honours degree will give you an edge over candidates who just have an undergraduate degree. Possible careers include working as a health and fitness consultant, exercise scientist, sports scientist, sports coach or exercise physiologist.

Prerequisites

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Bachelor Degree: Completed an approved ACU undergraduate degree, or equivalent, normally within the last five years with a minimum GPA of 5.75 on the ACU seven point scale.

Potential Career Outcomes

Graduates can work as health and fitness consultants, exercise scientists, sports scientists, sports coaches, and exercise physiologists*.

*After completing a postgraduate qualification in exercise physiology
