La Trobe’s finance major will give you the latest knowledge and skills to understand the changing global financial landscape.

Offered through La Trobe's Bachelor of Accounting, you'll learn the latest finance knowledge and skills sought by today’s employers. Learn how to analyse and apply financial theory to extend your understanding of domestic and international foreign markets and gain hands-on experiences in our financial trading room.

La Trobe's Bachelor of Accounting gives you the technical and human skills you need to adapt and thrive in our era of digital transformation. You’ll develop vital skills in accounting, information systems, finance, economics, management and data analytics tools. You’ll also build a deep understanding of financial accounting, business law, management accounting, auditing and assurance, forensic accounting and taxation.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

Majors

Finance.

Graduate with the skills, knowledge and experience to work in the financial services sector, in corporations or in the government sector. Possible roles include:
