Overview

The Bachelor of Agribusiness and Master of Agricultural Economics is a globally relevant economics degree that focuses on analysis of production, consumption, and trade issues in the global food, fibre and energy sectors. It is structured as a four-year accelerated Combined Bachelor Master's program for those with an ATAR of 90 or above. By completing this Combined Bachelor and Master course, you will graduate with both a Bachelor of Agribusiness and a Master of Agricultural Economics.

In your first three years you will complete the Agribusiness and Agricultural Science (Extended Major) where you will learn the fundamental agricultural science, business, managerial and economic knowledge and skills necessary to address the scientific and managerial challenges in food systems and value chains, followed by a semester of postgraduate study.

You will then complete a final year of postgraduate study in the Master of Agricultural Economics. The master's component of the course will give you an appreciation of key elements of agricultural economics, with the overall course emphasis on the application of theory to real world circumstances. The core themes of the course are - applied economic analysis, policy analysis, agribusiness management and analysis.

Prerequisites

Prerequisites for Bachelor of Agribusiness:

  • Mathematics Methods ATAR OR Mathematics Applications ATAR with a mathematics unit taken in the first year
  • Students without ATAR Mathematics will take two first-year mathematics units
