Overview

Data Science is one of the hottest topics in technology and is a highly in-demand field, but there is a shortage of skilled, qualified data scientists worldwide. The Bachelor of Applied Data Science is a program of study that equips you with the skills necessary to provide solutions to a wide range of problems. Working in groups and on individual projects, you will bring together key skills in information technology and mathematics and apply these to real life projects. Through selected streams, you will develop your passion for the physical sciences, sociological or anthropological studies, business or engineering. The unique blend of skills that you attain will empower them to apply data science to a wide range of industries and make them highly desirable problem solvers.

In the Honours year of the program, you will apply the skills you have acquired to a significant individual project.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 27 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in one of Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

As for Year 12 (or Year 12 equivalent).
