Overview

The Bachelor of Applied Public Health addresses the science and complexities of preventing disease and promoting health and wellbeing by improving systems and services. Public health includes environmental, economic, technical, educational, legislative and other approaches to reducing the burden of disease and improving health and quality of life. Graduates may work in national and international health agencies, state and federal government health departments, non-government aid and advocacy organisations as health advocates, health educators or policy advisors. Work can involve a diverse range of programs including physical activity promotion, drugs and alcohol, refugee support, or food and nutrition.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: As for Year 12 or equivalent.
