Overview

As an RMIT aviation student, you’ll gain the skills and knowledge for employment in a range of operational, management and planning roles in the dynamic and vibrant aviation industry.

Aviation is highly competitive and needs well-trained individuals who can work effectively in rapidly changing environments.

This course has two specialised streams:

a) Aviation operations and management stream
b) Piloting.

Aviation operations and management focuses on developing a breadth of skills and knowledge across the aviation industry. This includes analytical skills, knowledge of operational and management aspects of airlines and airports, cargo and logistics management, ground handling, and safety. This stream includes opportunities for you to select various themes so you can tailor your degree to your preferred area of future employment.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English other than EAL or at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL); Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in one of Maths: General Mathematics, Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
