Overview

In this double degree you will gain specialised knowledge of the art world combined with the literary and narrative skills of professional communication.

In Art History and Curating, you'll learn about the history of art from foremost scholars and art writers, and acquire skills in the theory and practice of curating from leaders in the field.

In Media Communication, you will develop practical and work-ready skills from day 1 and can choose from four specialisations (Journalism, Media, Public Relations or Screen) to complement your Art History and Curating studies. You'll learn from leading industry professionals, experience what it's like to work in a professional media environment, and graduate ready to shape the future of contemporary art, media and communication.

These practice-led courses will draw from both degrees to equip you with the skills to succeed in a creative and influential career as a curator, researcher, or professional media and communication specialist.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 27 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

As for Year 12 (or Year 12 equivalent).
