Deepen your understanding of the past and present. In La Trobe's major in history, you’ll learn the tools to explore the ancient world of myth through to the present day.

Offered through La Trobe’s Bachelor of Arts, in this major you'll address key themes such as the nature of the historical imagination, the rise and decline of empires, mass migration, human rights and environmental sustainability. You'll also explore a range of geographical perspectives including Australia, Europe, the US, Latin America and Asia.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
