Explore the cultural landscapes of Australia's nearest neighbours. In La Trobe's major in Asian studies, you'll learn about Asia and its languages while examining the history, culture and political systems of this dynamic continent.

Offered through La Trobe’s Bachelor of Arts, in this major you'll choose from a wide range of subjects, taught in English, that explore different aspects of the diverse societies, histories, popular cultures and traditions of the Asian region. You will also have the option to study an Asian language alongside this major.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
