Overview

The Bachelor of Arts offers over 40 areas of study in the humanities, social sciences and languages. These can be studied as a major or a minor. Some study areas can only be studied as a minor. The degree builds core skills that prepare graduates for a wide range of careers and study pathways. Students build interdisciplinary knowledge, community leadership and cultural awareness, and graduate with the skills necessary to succeed in the rapidly changing global environment. Each major develops specialised skills in a defined discipline.

In the first year, students will complete an Arts Discovery subject that introduces them to concepts, ideas and principles that are central to the humanities, social sciences and languages. By the second year, students will finalise selection of majors and minors. In the third year, students will engage in a capstone experience, designed to draw together the various strands of their undergraduate study and facilitate transition to life as a graduate.
