Overview

The aim of this program is to provide appropriate preparation for a pathway into secondary teaching in the Humanities and Social Sciences (History and Geography). The Bachelor of Arts (Aboriginal Cultures and Australian Society) provides knowledge and critical understandings of the relationships between Aboriginal cultures and Australian society, and history and geography within both Australian and comparative global contexts. The program has been designed to meet the needs of students who require an Australian Studies or Aboriginal Studies major as a foundation for further study, including teaching qualifications, as well as those students who plan to, or already, work in the public sector, business, and community services, and conduct research in native title and history-based organisations and service providers.
