Overview

Chinese is comprised of a variety of closely related languages and dialects, is spoken by 1.3 billion people, and is one of the top five working languages of the United Nations. As one of the world’s most vibrant economies, China is an important trade partner for Australia. This major is designed to provide you with a high level of literacy in Chinese language (listening, speaking, reading and writing) as well as an understanding of Chinese culture and society.

This course can help you become a/n: hotel or motel manager, research officer, foreign affairs and trade officer, teacher - English as a second language, welfare worker, interpreter, translator, flight attendant, trade measurement officer, tourist information officer, tour guide.
