Overview

The Bachelor of Arts (Music Industry) offers real-world industry experiences, academic coursework, creative opportunities, and pathways to future employment.  
 
This innovative degree provides the foundation for a diverse career in the music industry. You will gain local and global industry knowledge through core topics such as: Ableton Live music production, music cultures, popular music scenes, and live music. Electives (including DJing, sound design, music video creation, and more) enable you to tailor your specialisation and enhance your performance, technical or research skills.  
 
You can also undertake a Minor to complement your music industry degree. Minors include: Approaches to Popular Culture, Asian Media and Culture, Cinema Studies, Contemporary Politics and Communication or Literary Studies. Embrace opportunities for international exchange and study electives from across RMIT, including business skills for creative industries, management, entrepreneurship and more.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English other than EAL or at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL).

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
