Overview

RMIT Photography provides the opportunity to picture a future at Australia’s leading institution for Art and Design. Students learn from practising photographers, artists and future-focussed academics to develop their own creative approach to image making through an integrated model of practical experience and critical thinking.

Photography provides a range of strategies to observe, interpret and shape the world. Its intersection with social, economic, cultural, and political arenas will provide students with an opportunity to actively engage in contemporary visual culture. Students will produce work in our purpose–built studios, using modern photographic equipment, in response to critical discourses and emerging technologies in global and local contexts.

Graduates will find success across local and international creative industry sectors as an innovative image-maker who is able to shape their chosen field through professional, artistic and academic engagement.
