Overview

Develop an understanding of people's motivations and actions and provide valuable insights into the world of business when you study psychology and business at UOW. Broadening your knowledge and skillset, double degrees give you a distinct advantage in the workforce. The strategic thinking and data analysis skills you will gain from studying business will be reinforced by the scientific principles and methods that underpin modern psychology. How do we work, organise ourselves and assign value to things? What constitutes responsible and ethical decision-making? You will address these questions and more when you learn to think strategically and critically to solve complex business problems in this degree. On completion of this degree, you will be able to your knowledge of psychological principles across many business contexts such as applying research methods to commercial issues, human resource management, market research, and public relations.

You will benefit from the expertise of our teaching staff who are some of the best in their fields. During this double degree, you will study subjects that include biological and social bases of behaviour, cognition and perception, social and developmental psychology, personality, and applied psychology. You will also learn the fundamentals of psychological practice, including the history of psychology, statistical and quantitative methods and psychological assessment. As a business student, you will be required to study common core business subjects including the principles of responsible and sustainable business, accounting fundamentals, management, statistics for business and marketing, and then later choose a business major to focus on.

You will gain a partial qualification for provisional registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and be provided a route to Postgraduate coursework or research degrees in Psychology.
