Combining a Bachelor of Communication and Media with a Bachelor of Arts degree offers applied learning and a broad introduction to how new media practices shape our everyday lives, both in the workplace and in our communities. Every real-world problem has a cultural and social dimension that can be understood using the skills you will gain from an Arts degree. Whichever major you choose, our double degree in Arts and Communication and Media combines expertise in the humanities and social research and analysis with a focus on global media and communications skills. On completion of this degree, you will have honed your skills of analysis and interpretation as well as your ability to synthesise complex ideas.
You will be equipped with critical and creative thinking skills for effective communication which are essential to problem solving and are highly valuable to a wide range of media careers.
The Bachelor of Communication and Media and Bachelor of Arts double degree offers you strong foundations in the global communication and media industries with flexible and transferable skills to prepare you for informed engagement with the changing world. You will choose one major and a second minor or major from a wide range of offerings in the Bachelor of Arts degree. You will then select one major to specialise in for your Bachelor of Communication and Media from one of five majors including Digital and Social Media, Visual Communication Design, Journalism, Screen Media Production and Marketing Communication and Advertising.

Bachelor of Arts: Ancient history, archaeology, Asia Pacific studies, Chinese (Mandarin) for background speakers, Chinese (Mandarin) for non-background speakers, creative writing, English language and linguistics, English literatures, environmental humanities, European studies, French, history, Indigenous studies, international relations, Japanese, legal studies, philosophy, photography, politics, sociology, Spanish, writing and English literatures.
Bachelor of Communication and Media: Media research and analysis, corporate communications, digital content development, social media, advertising, publishing, marketing, government media policy, media education. Bachelor of Arts: Art historian, historian and heritage specialist in government policy, business administration and management, consultancy, publishing, teaching, marketing, working for international aid organisations, work in unions and non-government welfare agencies, diplomacy, university lecturing and research, archives and librarianship, translation and interpreting, journalism, advertising.
