Overview

The Bachelor of Aviation course prepares students for a range of careers in the aviation industry including as an Airline Transport Pilot and an aviation management professional. 

The Airline and Airport Operations major covers the core theoretical foundations of aviation operational management.  The Flight Operations major will prepare you for a career as a professional airline pilot capable of managing a multi-crew environment. In this major, you will study the academic and aeronautical knowledge requirements of the Air Transport Pilot License and Command Instrument Rating. If you wish to become a commercial pilot, you will need to study CQU's Graduate Diploma of Aviation alongside this course. After successful completion of the first term of study and attending an interview in the second term to determine your preparedness for a career as a pilot you will be able to apply for the Graduate Diploma.

Potential Career Outcomes

In conjunction with CQU's Graduate Diploma of Aviation this course prepares graduates for aviation careers in the air transportation industry as a professional airline pilot. Graduates will have all the aeronautical knowledge and flight training required to hold a Air Transport Pilot Licence, Commercial Pilot Licence with Command Instrument Rating. Graduates may also be eligible to apply for cadetship or traineeship offered by some airlines or apply for Australian Defence Force positions.
