Overview

Join the growing demand for graduates in the field of exercise and biomedical sciences. This dual degree will enable you to apply theoretical knowledge and analytical techniques to a range of practical and clinical scenarios in the workplace and community. Gain experience and develop a solid foundation in designing research methodologies and performing analytical research by participating in interdisciplinary research.

VU is equipped with new medical research facilities at Sunshine Hospital, and exercise and sport science facilities at the Footscray Park campus. 

This course is closely linked with VU's Institute for Health and Sport, the Western Centre of Health, Research and Education (WCHRE) and the Australian Institute of Musculoskeletal Science (AIMSS). ­ 

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in two of Biology, Chemistry, Health And Human Development, any Mathematics or Physical Education.

Majors

Biomedical and Exercise Science.

On completion of this course, graduates can successfully enter professional settings within the medical, public health and sporting sectors, including government, industry and research sectors.
