Overview

The Bachelor of Biomedical Science will prepare graduates with an understanding of the cause, nature, progression, consequences, and diagnosis of disease, and will explore research aimed at disease prevention and treatment. Students will gain hands-on laboratory experience in anatomy, biochemistry, cell biology, chemistry, genetics, immunology and microbiology whilst developing a thorough understanding of the natural sciences from biology/physiology through to clinical medicine. Students can choose from a major in physiological pharmacology or minor in pharmacology. Students will gain entry level skills in data management and analysis. In the age of “big data”, graduates with the ability to make sense of large data sets, to find and present patterns to others in an intelligible way, will be highly sought after in a range of industries.
