Overview

If you study Biomedical Science in a single degree course, you will focus on the health of humans in their social context and develop diagnostic and research skills. You will also have eight free elective units. These will enable you to take units that extend your biomedical science knowledge more broadly, or you can select from a wide range of units, majors and minors from across the university. 

In October, applicants will receive information via email inviting them to submit relevant information to be considered for the Dean's Rural List (DRL). Only timely applicants will be eligible to apply for the DRL. Eligibility may increase the chance of receiving an offer.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 27 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in Chemistry; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in one of Maths: Mathematical Methods, Maths: Specialist Mathematics or Physics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

As for Year 12 (or Year 12 equivalent).

Anatomy and physiology, Biochemistry, Biomedical science, Biomedicine, Genetics, Health sciences, Human biology, Human sciences, Microbiology, Molecular and cell biology, Neurobiology, Pathology, Pathophysiology.
