Overview

This course will prepare you for entry into postgraduate medical and allied health courses, covering physiology, anatomy, and biochemistry, as well as up-to-date information on disease and therapeutic approached. Gain a solid foundation in designing and critically analysing research methodologies and findings, with a particular emphasis on prevention and exercise interventions in medicine. Opportunities to undertake a research project will provide a platform to undertake a research degree. You will also be able to apply the fundamentals of medical techniques to a range of practical scenarios for a valuable blend of theoretical and experiential learning.

Minors available as part of this course include: Health and Nutrition, Immunopharmacology, Integrative Physiology and The Entrepreneurial Mindset.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in two of Biology, Chemistry, any Mathematics or Physics.

Majors

Biomedicine.

Graduates of this program can enter the workforce as researchers in a variety of fields, including medical, exercise and nutrition sciences, and in medical and diagnostic application services.
