Overview

This course provides the perfect career foundation for students who enjoy building and planning, drawing and design. Students will learn from an experienced teaching team and through design-based projects and authentic assessments, will develop skills in planning and designing residential homes and commercial buildings, satisfying a Building Design - Open licence issued by the Building Services Authority, Queensland. Students will build an understanding of construction structures, building materials and services, sustainability, professional practice and communication. Potential Career Outcomes

Building Designers provide design solutions for residential and commercial buildings of all sizes. Completing the Bachelor of Building Design prepares you to pursue employment opportunities as a Building Designer, and work for:
  • design, architectural, planning, building or engineering firms

  • corporations with large building portfolios.
