Overview

This course offers maximum flexibility if you are undecided about career choice. It will provide you with a strong foundation in business skills as you engage with a flexible, innovative and practical curriculum focused on local, national and global business contexts. You will develop a strong grounding in business skills in a common first year and then choose from 11 majors. You will participate in practical Work-Integrated Learning through business challenges and have the opportunity to study internationally.

The course comprises 24 units, including core, business specialist and elective units, including a stream of Business Challenge units which are designed to build and enhance your skills in critical thinking, academic writing, teamwork, problem solving, and project management preparedness. You have the option to complete a second major from 11 business majors giving you the opportunity to broaden your career prospects.  Work-integrated Learning (internship) units are available.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

Accounting (City Flinders), Accounting (Footscray Park), Banking and Finance (City Flinders), Event Management (Footscray Park), Financial Risk Management (City Flinders), Human Resource Management (Footscray Park), Information Systems Management (Footscray Park), International Trade (City Flinders), Management and Innovation (Footscray Park), Marketing (Footscray Park), Supply Chain and Logistics (City Flinders), Tourism and Hospitality Management (Footscray Park).

Potential Career Outcomes

Bachelor of Business graduates find employment in a wide range of occupations and professional settings including private corporations, professional service firms, the public service and community sector.
