Overview

This double degree covers specialist areas of study relating to accounting, finance, investment and personal wealth management. Students will be introduced to the regulatory and global influences relevant to the financial services industry and will develop an understanding of financial products, risk management and investment strategies that are required for providing financial and accounting services to clients.

Students will be encouraged to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical skills through work placement opportunities. Graduates will have the skills required for a range of transaction-related, advisory or consulting roles in Australia and overseas.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

Potential Career Outcomes

By combining studies from two professions, you will be prepared for a career as a financial planner or accountant, and for a wide range of roles in professional advisory services, financial and management accounting, auditing, assurance and taxation. Roles may focus on family and personal wealth advice, insurance, taxation, banking and financial services, investment and portfolio management, organisational governance and accountability, cost accounting, business risk and financial management.
