Overview

This degree helps develop an understanding of the complexities of logistics, supply chain and trade industries through specialised studies that cover purchasing, materials management, warehousing, inventory control, transport and distribution, and stakeholder management. 

This three-year course combines core studies in business and supply chain management, with the option to choose eight subjects from business or other disciplines including international business, economics, accounting and information systems. Students may choose to deepen their knowledge by undertaking additional subjects or a minor sequence in logistics.

Through the support of professional associations and the transport and logistics industry, students have the opportunity to gain feedback from practitioners on their ability to analyse, resolve problems and communicate effectively.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

Potential Career Outcomes

Most graduates pursue careers in either transport companies or organisations that specialise in purchasing, supply chain management, contract distribution, manufacturing and retail.

Job roles include: procurement officer, supply coordinator, materials logistics coordinator, inventory planner, inventory analyst, and other roles that require the effective and efficient integration of all logistics activities.
