Overview

Join a fast-paced and exciting industry when you study business, travel and tourism at UOW. With a Bachelor of Business – TAFE Advanced Diploma of Travel and Tourism, you will gain a substantial depth of industry and managerial knowledge at a senior level.

You will develop specialised skills as you learn how to operate independently with responsibility and make strategic business decisions as you support a number of innovative specialist fields including eco-tourism and global volunteering. 

On completion of this degree, you will be able to enter careers that include tourism officer, travel consultant, destination coordinator and more. You will benefit from the expertise of our teaching staff who are some of the best in their fields. You will explore tourism marketing, consumer behaviour, and services marketing as you delve into the business of adventure. You will learn about the communication and development of tourism products as you build practical, vocational workplace skills and knowledge of the tourism industry.

In your first year and a half of the degree, you will combine TAFE and University study with your final courses being University only. Within the Bachelor of Business component of the degree, you will select a major of your choice to complement your TAFE Advanced Diploma of Travel and Tourism Management and enhance your career prospects.

You will also undertake a final-year capstone subject that lets you apply everything you've learned up to that point in collaboration with students from other disciplines. Plus, you have the option of applying for an internship to gain valuable experience whilst receiving credit towards your degree.
