Overview

This degree equips you with the knowledge and practical skills to work in the tourism and hospitality industry.

In your first year, you'll cover key business disciplines including accounting, economics, finance and analytics. You'll also complete the first two subjects of your major in tourism and hospitality. The eight-subject tourism and hospitality major is structured around unique work experiences.

In your second year, you'll gain hands-on experience using front-of-house and travel management booking systems, and you'll participate in a hotel management computer simulation towards the end of your course. You'll also have the opportunity to study an optional second major in event management or a language.

We have connections with universities in over 40 countries, which includes top international business schools and the Berlin School of Economics, and we encourage you to participate in student exchange and study abroad programs.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

Potential Career Outcomes

As a graduate, you’ll be well placed to find employment in a range of roles that include hospitality manager, tourism officer and guest relations manager.
