Government and International Relations: international relations; political science and public policy; security, conflict and human rights.

Potential Career Outcomes

As a graduate with strong analytical skills, you may pursue work in a broad range of sectors including the government, not-for-profit, international organisations, media, political parties, a range of corporate environments, as well as start-ups and entrepreneurial enterprises. Political science and public policy provides opportunities administering advice to government and business leaders, developing policy and managing programs in areas like economic, environmental and social policy, diplomacy and trade relations. An International Relations qualification gives you a range of employment options in Australia and internationally. You could find a job in foreign ministries, defence departments, intelligence and aid organisations. You could also work in political risk assessment and humanitarian logistics, or for organisations such as the United Nations and its agencies. Depending on your major, you could work as an accountant, economist, in financial planning, in advertising, event management and marketing, international and Asian business specialist, a business owner or entrepreneur, in employment relations, export, human resources management, in tourism and hospitality management, real estate and property development, sport management, in sustainable business and business analytics.
