Overview

The commerce component of this dual degree prepares students for careers in general management, banking, financial management, accounting and information systems. Commerce subjects focus on accounting, financial planning, decision-making, and control of organisations. Students examine the fundamental principles of commerce and the business environment and learn to apply business principles to business practices. The economics component prepares students for careers as economists and analysts and can lead to careers in business, finance, international development, health, human resource management, marketing, management and research. The study of economics is central to an understanding of markets, trade, government policies, international issues, globalisation, health, development and the environment.
