Overview

This double degree combines the specialised disciplines of biological, clinical, chemical, physical and mathematical sciences with the skills to communicate these within various professions, and to the broader public. Alongside scientific expertise, you’ll graduate with a suite of communication, writing and media production skills that will add a critical dimension your career. You’ll confidently navigate the contemporary context for science, where skills in global communication and media are critical. You may also choose to undertake a fourth-year research Honours degree that can lead to a PhD or a career in research. Science: applied mathematics; archaeology (Nathan only); biochemistry and molecular biology; chemistry; clinical sciences (Nathan); geography; marine biology (Gold Coast); microbiology (Nathan); physics; wildlife biology.

Potential Career Outcomes

Depending on your areas of specialisation, you may find employment opportunities across the science and technology, commercial and public sectors; communication, journalism and media sectors; science and technical writing; as an environmental scientist or consultant or mine environment officer; in biological, chemical and clinical sciences as a microbiologist, pharmaceutical scientist, biochemist, chemist or biotechnologist; or in physics and maths as a mathematician or physicist.
