Overview

A Bachelor of Communication and Media - Bachelor of Laws from UOW provides you with a thorough grounding in the law, as well as a real-world focus on the essential practical knowledge of our media landscape. Combining law with studies in communication and media will prepare you to engage with global media industries and culture, and provide a strong emphasis on developing research skills to understand the social and ethical context in which the law operates.

How does new media shape the political, legal, and social landscape? What are the legal considerations of emerging media within the workplace? On completion of this double degree, you will be able to answer these questions and more as you are prepared for a career in the world of digital communications and social media with a solid understanding of the law.

During your double degree, you will study the core subjects required for future admission to the profession as well as a choice of electives. Then, you will select core communications and media subjects alongside a major from:Digital and Social Media,
Journalism, Marketing Communication and Advertising, Screen Media Production and Visual Communication Design.

Additionally, as part of your legal studies, an integrated skills program will equip you with experience in areas such as legal research, interviewing, legal drafting, advocacy and negotiation.

Throughout this degree you will have the opportunity to gain real-world experience and make professional connections and are strongly encouraged to undertake study abroad to further expand your skills.
