Overview

La Trobe's Bachelor of Computer Science will help you gain the technical skills to adapt to emerging technologies across an increasingly digital world. As well as your technical subjects, you'll build the human skills you need for the workplace.

Carefully aligned to meet industry needs, you'll choose from four majors – artificial intelligence, software engineering, cloud analytics or data science – so you can prepare for a specialised career in computer science.

Learn how to use your computer science know-how to solve real-world problems with industry-based learning and mentoring opportunities with major corporations. Develop your skills in our expert research centres and state-of-the-art research lab for the Internet of Things.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in any Mathematics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
