Overview

This is an Honours version of the Bachelor of Computer Science, intended for high-achieving students with a research focus. The course offers a strong practical and theoretical grounding in Computer Science and computational methods plus hands-on projects to challenge and further develop your skills. You will develop exceptional programming and analysis skills and the capabilities needed for postgraduate study or a career in digital research and development.

You will choose one of two specialisations: Advanced Computer Science, which challenges your problem-solving skills, or Data Science, which dives deeply into an important application area.

In your third year you gain practical experience: take a full-year project on a topic of interest or apply for a half-year placement in the Industry Based Learning program.

In your final year you pursue an individual research project. Our focus areas include intelligent systems, bioinformatics, cybersecurity, optimisation and visualisation.
