Overview

The Bachelor of Computer Science (Dean’s Scholar) is a program for high-achieving students, designed to provide an enriched educational experience and to encourage you to continue on to further studies and research. Benefits of this program include the opportunity to apply for the Summer Scholarship program where you are employed as a paid research assistant, access to a wider range of subjects, and an annual study grant.You will learn to design methods and tools and write programs for computer applications like computer systems, control machinery, information management and big data. You will develop your skills across applications for mobile devices, trend analysis, game design, visualisation of chemical reactions, neural network design and so much more. On completion of the Bachelor of Computer Science, you will be able to remain relevant to industry trends and developments as you enter this in-demand career.

Learn from world-renowned academics who are experts in their fields for  building, deploying, and managing the latest computing technologies and business computing systems. Find your strengths and interests as you study the fundamentals of computer science and IT. Throughout your first year, you will study a common core of subjects that links our computer science, IT and business information systems degrees. Then, you will specialise in a major from your second year of study by choosing from a range of available subjects. For students who do not wish to specialise in a major, you will complete advanced subjects providing you with specific knowledge while also instilling you with professional knowledge and skills in computer science. In your final year, you will develop your own application as part of an annual student team project, developing solutions to real-world problems provided by our industry partners.
