Overview

In this course, students develop the skills to manage and lead construction projects from inception to completion.

Learn how buildings and assets are created and acquired and develop skills in construction technologies, building information modelling planning, scheduling, estimating and contract administration. Students take studies in sustainability, law, economics and leadership, and complete three research related subjects.

Students can choose to minor in Property Investment Strategies, Property Technology and Management, Project Management Practice, Smart Construction, Urban Strategy and Sustainable Planning or Further Project Skills.

Graduates working in construction management related professions are likely to organise and manage a vast number of people and resources across planning and operations to ensure professional and safe delivery of constructions projects, including residential, commercial, industrial, recreational, transport and other public facility developments.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English other than EAL or at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL); Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in any Mathematics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

Potential Career Outcomes

This qualification can lead to careers including chartered builders, chartered quantity surveyors, construction project managers, estimators, and contract administrators in a wide range of enterprises including private and public developers, head/main contractors, design consultants, surveying consultants, subcontractors, and material suppliers.
