Overview

The Theatre Arts major at Curtin University is the longest established tertiary level theatre and performance training course in the state. This major provides students with critical skills, theoretical understanding and practical training and experience in the areas of theatre and performance practice. These areas include acting, directing, writing, devising, dramaturgy, critical analysis, stage management and theatre production.

You will be able to learn from artists-in-residence with professional production experience, and have the chance to apply your skills and knowledge in the extensive public production program by the on-campus Hayman Theatre Company. You will also have the opportunity to perform in five major productions and up to 20 student-directed productions each year, ranging from classical drama, contemporary Australian and new and international works, on campus and in venues around Perth.
