The Bachelor of Creative Industries (Digital Media) aims to develop the creativity, strategic thinking, business capability and practical skills required for success in the creative and cultural industries sector and specifically in the design and development of digital media and promote the ability to work adaptively with new media and disruptive technologies in a fast-changing technologically driven industry environment. This degree provides experience in working collaboratively, as part of an interdisciplinary creative team.
On completion of the degree students will be able to apply theories of creative production and cultural value to analyse digital media and critically evaluate digital media projects in terms of their feasibility, sustainability and cultural and societal outcomes. Students will be able to develop and deliver creative industries projects to work independently and collaboratively and determine a range of partnership opportunities and funding sources for creative industries projects and events. Students will be able to interpret and critically evaluate contemporary policy for the creative arts and industries and combine skills in creative development, project management and marketing and apply them while delivering digital media projects.
This degree prepares graduates for careers in games, entertainment and digital media. Potential occupations may include concept artist, production manager and illustrator; potential employers may include software developers, news and media corporations.
