In your criminal justice and criminology studies, you'll examine the international dimensions of criminal justice, as well as the technological advances impacting the sector, including predicting the commission of crime, detecting and stopping criminal behaviour, and implementing effective and efficient criminal sanctions.

You’ll then take your invaluable skills and knowledge to the next level through studies in applied innovation. Immersed in a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment that draws heavily on real-world experience, you’ll be challenged and inspired to develop transformative solutions to the complex challenges of today and tomorrow.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English other than EAL or at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL).

Advanced topics in forensic psychology, Applied innovation, Brain and behaviour, Corrections systems and practice, Crime and punishment in the international context, Crime society and culture, Criminal law and process, Deviance difference and conformity, Fundamentals of criminology, Global crime, Introduction to forensic psychology, Introduction to law, Law and social science, Policing systems and practice, Sentencing, Technological advances in dealing with crime, Youth justice and crime.

Potential Career Outcomes

Graduates will be prepared to work in the areas of law enforcement, corrections, offender rehabilitation, victim support and government policy development. With the development of innovation capabilities, roles may include: innovation consultant, innovation lead, innovation analyst, strategic designer, creative producer, start-up founder, human-centred researcher, self-employed entrepreneur, product manager, transformation lead, innovation strategist and innovation manager.
