Overview

A data scientist solves problems by designing systems that take data in its many forms, and providing information in terms of analysis and prediction. To do this a data scientist must be adept at both computing and statistics. This degree equips students with the computational and statistical knowledge and skills for designing machine learning systems for prediction and analysis of complex data relationships, storage and retrieval of big data, designing experimental studies, and building and fitting  models for analysis, visualisation, estimation and prediction. These skills are essential for the analysis of customer transactions and behaviour, scientific investigations, financial trends, and online behaviour.
