Overview

In this double degree you’ll combine design creativity with business skills to allow you to take advantage of the commercialisation of visual communication design, interior and spatial design, product design, interaction design and immersive design. You will have a unique range of skills and abilities to bridge the creative-business divide. You'll gain an understanding of the changing role of design and have the opportunity to experience industry-related and research projects while specialising in selected studio areas. Graduates have a broad range of skills in creative design that they can effectively combine to manage creative ventures from a business perspective. Through your extensive practical experience opportunities, you’ll graduate with strong business networks and the authentic knowledge to apply your skills to a broad range of business environments. You’ll be prepared to work in a variety of design-related roles relevant to your chosen specialisation/s in not-for-profit, government and corporate organisations, as well as in start-ups and entrepreneurial enterprises. Business: accounting; Asian business; Asian engagement; behavioural science; business analytics; economics; employment relations; events; finance; financial planning; human resource management; innovation and entrepreneurship; international business; logistics and supply chain management; management; marketing; political science and international relations; real estate and property development; sport management; sustainable business; taxation; tourism and travel.

Potential Career Outcomes

Depending on your areas of specialisation, you may find roles in graphic design, interior design, product design, digital web design, design management, design education, film and television, theatre, furniture design, digital media, or a variety of design-related roles in not-for-profit, government and corporate organisations, as well as in start-ups and entrepreneurial enterprises.
