Overview

The Bachelor of Disability and Developmental Education (Rehabilitation Counselling) has been designed to develop work-integrated knowledge and skills that can be applied in a range of disability, rehabilitation and related health and human services environments, including the NDIS. The degree promotes the philosophy that persons with disabilities should be fully included in community life. You will be introduced to study areas such as psychology, philosophy, speech pathology, sociology, health, rehabilitation and special education. Furthermore, it has a strong focus on disability, developmental education and rehabilitation counselling needs. It is available to study entirely online.On completion of this course graduates become trained as both rehabilitation counsellors and developmental educators and are qualified to work in the field of service provision for people with diverse needs, including developmental and acquired disabilities. Graduates are employed by government and non-government agencies in programs that assist persons with diverse needs to live and work in the community.
