Overview

As a high achiever, you will learn to identify and apply economic tools of analysis to a wide range of global issues when you study economics and finance at UOW. You will uncover international career opportunities as you learn about the behaviour of consumers and firms, the labour market, the environment, fiscal and monetary policy, and international trade.

How do markets operate across a country or region? What is the return on investment and industry risk of a business decision?  On completion, you will be able to answer these questions and more as you develop the skills necessary to make responsible professional judgements.

You will benefit from the expertise of our teaching staff who are some of the best in their fields as you develop highly sought-after technical and professional skills.  Design the career of your choice as you build highly competitive skills based on experiential learning. After completing fundamental theory and practice-based work, you will undertake an exciting applied research project capstone subject.  Throughout this degree, you will gain hands-on experience, make meaningful professional connections and have the opportunity for an international workplace-based project or more traditional research-based project.

As a UOW Business graduate you will be equipped with the knowledge and tools to make a positive impact in the world; no matter what path you take. The Faculty of Business and Law is a signatory to the Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME), a global initiative of the United Nations. We champion responsible management education, research and thought leadership in the classroom using real world examples, so when you join the workforce you are better prepared to make the ethical business decisions that this world requires.
