Overview

The course prepares teachers to work with children from birth to eight years, with specific emphasis on kindergarten, Preparatory year and Years 1-3. It includes professional experience commencing in the first year of the course. Students undertake practical work in a variety of educational sites, including rural and remote locations and wider community settings. Specialist subjects include early childhood development and early childhood care and education service. This course is nationally accredited through the Australian Children's Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) in association with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT). Graduates of this course are eligible for teacher registration in Australia.
