Overview

If you are passionate about educating children and adolescents from aged 5 to 18 years on the importance of physical activity, and health and wellbeing, then this specialisation is for you.

You will qualify as a generalist primary school teacher able to teach across the school curriculum, and also as a specialist health and physical education primary school teacher and a secondary school teacher with health and physical education as your two specialist teaching areas. This will give you the flexibility and expertise to turn your passion into a productive and rewarding career in a wide range of settings.

This course is equivalent to 4.25 years of full time study but is completed in 4 calendar years.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 1 and 2: satisfactory completion in two units (any study combination) of Maths: General Mathematics, Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics or Units 3 and 4: any Mathematics; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

As for Year 12 (or Year 12 equivalent).
